The Corinthian 645 First Avenue, New York, New York

The $90-million, 55-story project is in excess of one million square feet, which includes 865 luxury condominiums and approximately 80,000 square feet of commercial space. A unique feature of the architectural concept is the semi-circular bay window in every living room which provides for magnificent panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline from inside the apartment while creating an unusual sculptural mass which heightens the visual drama of the building. The Corinthian is an enormous structure and this sculptural effect diminishes the bulk visually. The basic massing of the tower initially is curved so as to take advantage of views from various locations in the tower, and at the same time position the maximum number of apartments away from adjacent taller buildings.

Construction was completed in the summer of 1988.
